Interior lights not switching off, battery running down V70-XC70

My 1998 should be just the same as your 1999. The strike plate on the door is like a sideways V. On the bottom edge is a small lever that sticks up. Try to push it away from the car body, it should "click" and the lights turn off in 30 seconds or so. Pulling on the handle will release it.

Dealers will replace the entire lock assembly for a small fee :)
