Third Tail light 850

1995 GLT sedan. Third tail light has a mind of its own. It works for weeks just fine and the for 2 or 3 days I get the dash light on indicating the bulb is out. Then the next day it works. Replaced the bulb and even traced the wiring as far back as I could without really tearing into anything major. Wanted to post and see if anyone has encountered this gremlin before I spend my Saturday breaking more stuff! :) Always the little things it seems.
