Hello, recently one of the doors on my vehicle broke (locking mechanism RF) and I had hoped to replace it soon. However, the details I have in my Chiltons manual leave me in a very dark area. It's very open with how this is to be done. I have no problem removing the door panels but afterwards the mystery begins.

Perhaps some of you folks (with great mechanical ability) can shed some lite on the subject! Not only did the locking mechanism break but I can't open the door from the inside as well!

One final word, I've seen the replacement part (all plastic); Is it possible to replace this item with earlier models (with metal parts), I'd really like to get a item that can stand the test of time!
