here I go again - sucker for stray Volvo's? 850

Guy up the road from my house has a 96 850 turbo auto white sedan. Car looks great. 150k, salvaged title due to minot door dent - no biggy. Everything works but...

...test drove it. Check engine light is on. Owner said someone told him the 'O2 sensor in the front left quadrant' What check engine code calls out a '...quadrant' ?

The tranny took a while to go into reverse, like nothing was happening. Road test with some bearing noise - maybe the drive shaft bearing. Clunk when shifting from D to R/ R to D

Man, the car is sweet but is this gonna need some tranny work. The OD dash light was not on. Only comes on when OD button is pushed, like normal - so PNP switch is not the issue?

I could get this car for $700....and I can work on cars - but I am not up for a tranny swap.

Also, I have kept in the RWD world with 700/900 cars but I really like this ride.

I love the strays...thoughts?
