vibration and ABS/trac light 850 1997

I have a 97 850 T-5 with about 50k on it. Every once in a while the abs and trac off light comes on. I put a little brake fluid in once and it went away but it seems to be occuring more frequently. Also, you can barely feel the vibration in the steering wheel and I would have never noticed except I had the windows open and there is an audible thump thump thump that seems to be coming from the rear at freeway speeds. I had the tires rebalanced and rotated but its still there. Are these related or separate problems, any ideas? thanks
