Started and stalled, twice. V70-XC70 1999

I started my car after it was sitting in the parking lot for about 30 minutes.
I started it and it shut off.
Started again. Shut off.
Started again and needed the accelerator to keep it going.
Then, coming to stops, the idle would bounce up and down, between 800 and 1000.
No CEL or any other light came up.
I've only owned old Volvo's, and this is a turn off.
When I got home, I started it again and it was fine.
Any ideas?
Vacuum leak, software update needed?
Would cleaning the throttle body, mass airflow sensor, idle control something help?
Where are they located?
