Oil Light V70-XC70

Negative to the dust/salt on the outside of your car. That just means it needs to be washed/waxed regularly.

The oil filter can be inspected, it is at the bottom/middle of the engine bay and just behind the air guide/splash guard under the car. If it is white, its probably MANN, yellow = something else. But don't get ballistic. Most filters do a reasonable job, it is just that Mann/OEM do a better job in this particular engine.

I would be just as concerned regarding the viscosity of the oil and whether it is synthetic or not. You live in a temperate climate and it takes a while for the engine oil to get warm.
