To Arno: closed-loop and open-loop running

Arno, I remember a while ago you were talking about your car maintaining higher boost on sustained half or 2/3 throttle than at full throttle. You mentioned this is something to do with the ECU going into open-loop mode at full throttle. Is this common to standard ECU cars too?

I've experimented with mine (no boost gauge, just by feel) and it seems I get better results at less than full throttle. Would you please explain it again? Is it because when running open-loop, it runs too rich?
