Headlight Wiper Motor V70-XC70 1998

For some reason, one of my headlight wiper motors wants to go the wrong direction. If I try removing the blade and re-attaching it, it ends-up when the other one id down and vice versa. The dealer has suggested replacing the motor at a price of $300. Any other ideas?
