Vacuum lines 850 1996

In my ongoing quest for my misfire problem, which i have posted in the past, i have gone through Bay 13's instruction for checking your vacuum lines.

In short my problem is that i get misfire error codes, almost always when idling for a while.

Anyway, the instruction shows a picture of the most common source of problems. This is the vacuum connection which is located on the passenger side of the intake manifold. To my surprise i do not have a rubber elbow connected to a hos but rather a rubber plug! On the other hand i use four of the connections on the "vacuum tower".

My question is therefore, is this a problem? I have no idea where the hose on the manifold should have gone, if it had been there. Does the extra connector to the vacuum tower take care of this or what?

Suggestions please!

The car is a 1996 850 GLT 20V non-turbo

/Peter
