Two interesting issues V70-XC70

I just had two issues solved:
1. There is an electrical connection UNDERNEATH all wheel drive cars that can get corrosion from the weather that prevents the various modules from talking to each other. Underneath, DUH!!! Mine manifested itself by shifting down two to three gears, at highway speed, two hours out, at warm to high temps, with no warning. Can't be the best for the tranny, which isn't the strongest to begin with. Surprise you say, you bet, I'll say. If you live in a really wet or salt on the road area I'd be on the look out for this problem. A note, if you are in UTAH the dealer there would not look at my car, he told me to wait six months til I returned to Seattle to take it to my local dealer. Bogus! Boycott Ken Garth!
2. I also experienced a noise ( all wheel drive ) that only occurred during really heavy slush that turned out to be the exhaust system warping and touching the drive shaft. This sounded like a noise that would come from an electronic device. Volvo has the new exhaust hangers.
Both of these are really out there according to Volvo.
