stalling 850 850

We have a '94 850 wagon with auto trans. Owned it for almost three years, from 105000 to now has 161000 miles. The first couple of years, about 4 times a year, we would be driving along and the car would simply quit as if one turned off the ignition key. You had to sit for about 60 seconds before trying to start it, as it would never immediately restart. This stalling originally happened only in the summer heat, at varying speeds, load conditions, etc, so the problem did not seem dependent on any one event other than a hot day. No codes show for the car. Now the problem is occurring sometimes 3 times in a day, sometimes not for weeks and summer heat is not here for sure! So far it has always immediately restarted after the approximately minute wait and runs perfectly.

I have seen other early 850's advertised on ebay with this problem, which leads me to think it might not be unique to our 850. Have other owners experienced this problem and found a solution? The entire ignition system, cap, coil, wires, plugs have been replaced over time (the coil was a used unit tho.)

Any and all help would be appreciated! Jim Dworschack, Wisconsin
