Re: Air pump failures 850 1996

Jot, thanks.

Coincidentally, I pulled the pump, and disassembled it, this weekend. The pump, and associated hoses, were filled with water, and everything was siezed. My pump did not have a filter in it, maybe it was an earlier model. But the pump was so filled with water, I'm not sure what good a filter would do--especially since you have to pull the battery, tray and shroud to get to it. I like you idea of a drain valve. I'm in the midst of a moral dilema--whether to spend the $300-$400 in parts to replace this system, or, not replace it and put a load resistor in place of the pump so that the computer thinks it's still there.
