Your profile says you are back in Canada? You are only supposed to go back during the summer months :)

Using butane, not a flame, just the gas... If you don't have a turbo, there shouldn't be a vacuum line coming out of the manifold next to cyl # 1. Also check the black plastic vacuum tree nest to the throttle body, make sure the unused nipples are covered and not cracked.

If all else fails, then fix the code with the replacement part which is only moderately expensive.
