Tires: H Rated vs. V Rated. Does it make a difference? 850 1997

Hi,

I haven't done anything with the suspension yet. The car has about 106,000 miles on it with I believe the original struts/shocks. So, it's probably time to change them. Also left hand turns kind of sharp is causing extra knocking sounds, so the strut mount might have finally given out. I'm thinking of getting Bilstien HD's. I had the wheels aligned, twice, and they might have to do it again as the steering wheel is off centered to the left a little. I guess that may not have anything do to with this issue I'm having, but it still needs to be fixed.

I will probably stick with these H rated tire now that I've heard from multiple people. Sounds like it will be no problem. I'm not to agressive of a drive and I don't usually go over 70 something. :)

I partially grew up (jr. high and high school) in a 1979 242DL, it was handed down to me when I was about 18, and recently sold it a couple of winters ago, with about 404,000 original miles. It was a stick. Original transmission, and engine. I did have the headgasket replaced at 385,000. They don't make them like they used to. I got to enjoy a 1983 244 Turbo, black on black, cool car, but sold it and when back to my 1979 240. My last car before the 850 was a 940. Good car. I want to buy another Black 244 Turbo. I love the old boxy cars! They are tanks.

Thank you again for your input!
