Bird ruined my paint 850 95

Hi,

I have a beautiful yellow 850 T5-R (184,000kms - Australia, there's a pic of it in the gallery in front of the Sydney Olympic Stadium) in excellent condition. When I came to my weekly washing of the car, I noticed some bird droppings on my bonnet. I hosed them off, and to my dismay found the paint underneath a light green/greyish colour. I attempeted to polish it off to no avail. Does this mean that my paint has been affected by the acidic shit the bloody bird did?, Is there anyway of fixing this without taking the car to the painter?, it's just over 1 inch in diameter and stands out.

Your help will be appreciated.
