Try another dealer 850 1999

You've got two options as I see it:

1) Get rid of your car

2) Get your current car fixed.

Option 1) involves legislation which I am not familiar with being a UK resident, so I'll pass on that except to say that a polite letter to the head of Customer Relations, marked "for addressee only" giving details of faults with dates and times of your bad contacts with Volvo may well get something done fast and effectively.

As far as option 2) goes, I had a series of problems with a used 850 bought under the Volvo Approved Used Car scheme and they were all due to the selling dealer who skimped on the preparation and then lied about the faults he missed.

I went to another local Volvo main dealer who fixed all the faults and who has provided excellent and not too expensive service thereafter - good business for them and good service for me.

Since the car's under warranty, it'll cost you nothing to get a mechanical "second opinion".

Well worth a try in my view.
