ABS Control unit failure or ABS relay? 850 1994

On my 94 850 Turbo with 205K miles the ABS light came on the other day. Checked the codes in A3 and got 4-4-4, 2-1-3, 2-1-4, 1-4-1, and 1-4-2. I cleard the codes the ABS worked for about 20 mintues and the light came on again. Now I reliable get 4-4-4. I've reset 4-4-4 a few times and it immediately comes back on restart. I checked the pedal position sensor using my ohm meter and it looks good so I don't think that's the problem.
Given all of this does it sound like the ABS control unit or the ABS relay has gone south? Or at this point is it a toss up and should just try the relay first since it's cheaper?

As always any advice is greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!
