Is it really worth the performance? S70 98

I'm looking for some feedback an ECU upgrade for a 98 T5. Is the upgrade really worth what you get in performance? Does it cut down on reliability? What areas are a concern when doing this type of an upgrade and what's the best product on the market?

I appreciate any input from those that have some experience with this.
