idiocy leads to check engine light - need input S70 98

So, at the car wash I washed the engine as usual. NO start. I was impatient and rushed it and finally it started ---- with the check engine light.

Any ideas???? I cranked and fale started a lot.

I am wussing out and taking it in for the timing belt - NO TIME!!!! I am sure they will check the source of the check engine light and would like a clue as to what to expect in order to ask at least some intellegent questions about it rather than just paying through the nose.

BTW - For a dealer, I do trust these guys some. (THe one in DeKalb IL.)
