It's best to use the hotter 195F degree T-stat as that's the temp where an engine is most efficient ideally, no matter what climate you live in.

A hotter engine also burns off the condensation inside your crankcase, otherwise it'll form a milky sludge that'll collect inside, especially if driven short trips where it doesn't get warm enough.

Hotter is better, true with any car.
