n0v8or, thanks a lot for the info. I don't think I will go messing around with the instrument cluster for now. The car is still under warranty and I will try to get this issue looked at soon. I am not sure whay this started all of a sudden. Very strange. The remote never had super range, but in my oppinion, it was just right. I don't want 3 mile range, I want enough so I can pop the trunk from the back of the car without using the key and so I can unlock the car on my approach to it from a few feet away. The way things are today I have to aim the remote into the glass of the car from a very close range otherwise no go. Opening the trunk from the back is all but impossible. I have to "shoot" with the remote through the rear window and even that doesn't work all the time.

If I find out something useful I will be sure to post for everyone's benefit.
