Re: Thermostat rating 850 1995

I replaced the original t-stat in my '94 at about 190k miles. The original registered exactly half way on my temp gauge, the new one slightly above halfway. My dealer said all the newer t-stats they sell are a bit higher temp rating than the older ones. Engines like the higher temp, he said. I have about 40k miles on this higher temp one and can say that the car warms up a bit faster in winter and there have been no negative effects in summer. Took a bit of getting used to seeing the dial a bit higher up the gauge though.
