I have a 2000 S40 with 210,000+ miles on it. Lately I have been setting 2 DTCs, P0705 & P1618. When the codes set the engine goes into a limp home condition. I clear the codes with my tool and I am fine until the next time.

I believe that the 0705 is 'Trans Range Switch Circuit malfunction (PRNDL input)and I have not been able to find a definition for the P1618.

I was wondering if anyone out there knows exactly what these codes mean?
