850 Turbo Deceleration Stall, won't restart but will start cold 850 1995

150k miles, 15k on new fuel pump.

Stalled pulling off the expressway, foot was on the brake when it happened. Started strong once after sitting for 10 minutes, but coughed and died after 2s, towed it home. Started strong and ran 2 hrs later.

I don't know much about the 850 series yet, this was my brother's car. Since it died after (I'm assuming) the deceleration fuel shutoff was in effect, since my foot was not on the gas at speed, I am guessing one of the following must be wrong:

- Something to do with idle / hot-start / deceleration fuel shutoff (is there a deceleration switch?) What do I need to look for if this is the case? Can the deceleration shutoff get "stuck on" somehow (sticky switch or throttle linkage?)

- The fuel pump was overheated and failed, once cooled down it worked again (seen this before on another car). I'm Skeptical about this since the pump is relatively new. Only way to test is to drive the car and wait for it to fail. I could do a pressure test also, what if the pressure readings were within limits?

TIA for any advice.
