Common problem S70 1999

I see what you describe on MOST Volvo "white engines" as apparently mice luv 'em. Although I'm never thrilled myself with seeing droppings, etc, I can't say that I've seen much damage unless they either build a nest inside your air cleaner restricting air flow or worse, get inside the car and chew holes or die in there (bad scene).

The best defense is traps, not poison.
