Yuri: Perhaps the person at Nils Sefeldt (sp?) who told you that "they remove the flame trap altogether" wasn't a tech, or didn't understand that Turbos DON'T need/use/have a flame trap, just the n/a engines. The FT is part of the EGR system, re-circulating the exhaust gases for re-combustion. Since combustion is an imperfect/incomplete process, there will be some oil getting into the EGR system via the PCV hoses. An n/a car NEEDS a flame trap, to prevent detonation. This $2 part, as previously explained, is one of the KEYS to keeping you ON the road, not on the SIDE of the road. I remain perplexed as to why that person made the remark about removing it. Even though this is an 850 site, you might want to go to the =700-900FAQ' section, and go look at the section on 'Engine Performance/Maintenance' and related areas; there's a LOT of information which applies to general PM for your car, even though you have an 850. Perhaps one day soon there will be an '850FAQ' site, specifically for your car.--PD.
