Stuck wheels S70 1998

For the first time I tried to rotate the tires myself. But after removing the lug bolts the wheel was stuck and I could not get it off. Since I was using the standard jack that came with the car I was hesitant to forcefully strike or shake the wheel loose with both wheels on one side of the car off the ground. I had this sticky issue when taking off the snow tires with steel rims last early spring, which I resolved by spraying DW40 around the hub protruding in the middle of the steel rim. I could not do this with the Volvo alloys. Any suggestions? There was a thread on this a few months back but I could not find it. On the same subject, is there a safer procedure of rotating the tires?

Thanks in advance.

Brian M.
