service engine light 850 1996

my service engine light is on (not the check engine light) and i remember from when i had a 740 that it was to tell you in intervals for oil changes i believe? i remember that you could just pull out the dash and push a button on the back to reset it. is it the same with the 850 models and if so are there any instructions out there on removing the dash?
