Blower Motor 850 1997

Took the glove box out... Wiggled all the wires around and all seems fine. To the left of power connector there is a relay.. What is that for? I pulled it and fan Blower did not stop...

Tried pulling the Temp Controller to look at what's inside, but can't seem to pull it out enough to get the connectors unplug... Is their a way to pull the cable out further?
