1999 radiator advice V70-XC70

I had a 92 960 wagon that it happened to. The trans cooler leaked into the radiator. I was told that the mixture is not good for the trans and that's what caused it to fail. If there are no signs of leaks there shouldn't be any reason to change the radiator. Replacing the trans at 100K was not a fun or cheap experience but the car has over 200K on it now and has had no recurrence of the problem.
