Hi all,
I have been very critical with Volvo in the 1st. year of my ownership.
After some time all problems were resolved and since I have had nothing then very positive experiences with my XC.
It's reasonably fast (top speed 245 kmh on the tacho = some 5300 rpm in 5th.) , reliable, rather cheap in maitainance, not consuming hardly any oil etc.
A few months ago however my ABS-Tracs light came up sevral times and disappeared in the same way. This intermitent failure only affected ABS when the light was on but all worked ok once the light went off again.
As I was not in a special hurry to get it fixed I waited until the next service to be done.
Also since a very hot month of August the soft insertions of all 4 door panels started bubbling. Nothing which could not wait until next service.
So I went last week to my regular dealer. Didn't even ask for any warranty
treatment as the car is 3 years old. But surprise, the dealer told me they were going to submit it to Volvo anyway.
Result; replacement free of any costs of the ABS / Tracs unit and a 50% charge of all 4 door panels. Volvo discounted 50% for use but admitted that both failures should not have ocurred ever!
Certainly that is something I understand as a good customer service!
I was thinking of a new car which could have been an Audi All Road but definitevely will stick with Volvo.
cheers
René
