Andires your problem could be the resistor pack.. my doing the same thing now it dead...

The resistor pack fail in most 850 cost for part is $100 and you can replace it yourself go to BAY 13... www.volvospeed.com

under remove lower glove box panal I think not sure .. have step by step with all the picture of the fan motor and the resistor pack ..
