Volvo to Alpine M-Bus Changer Pinout? ALL 98

I'm intending to add an Alpine changer (CHM-S620) to a '98 S70. I see that I need an adapter to go between the factory radio and changer--which I can buy at a local store for $100. Has anyone here taken a close look at one of these $100 cables? Unless some signaling logic is needed in the adapter, I can't justify spending so much for a bit of copper. If I can, I'd rather spend $5 at my local electronics store and make the cable myself. I've found instructions for adapting the Alpine changer cable for the factory stereo of other car lines (Acura, etc.) and its' really simple--you just swap two wires. Has anyone here made a schematic of the adapters used with a Volvo radio? I think someone may have posted this information before, but all the old messages are dead =(

Thanks

Tim
