Re: Fault codes 850 96

Hi,

I think I can give a little helping hand with code 122 - cruise control no speed signal. But I must say that my experiance is based on the 940 model not 850. Crazy it may sound but I can say with certainty that my car a 1991 940GLE has thrown up 122 before. Nothing to worry actually. The speed signal will only be activated when the car's speed reached 35MPH and above. If you were to check the cruise system codes below that speed, it will give you 122, like mine does. Once I was told (if I recall correctly) that the procedure is that first delete the code, then take the car for a drive and use the cruise control for a while. After that, before you shut off the engine retrieve the codes and you won't get 122. But if you shut off the engine and then retrieve the code you will definately get 122.

But I know that there is nothing wrong with my cruise control so I did not pay any attention to 122. I think that code is still there in the car's computer. So its up to you now.

Incidentally you may be wondering what in a world a guy with 940 lurking at 850 posts. Well I am looking around for a 850 T5 or V70 as my next car. The 940 is getting a little old. I just want to know what to expect from these models before I seriously think about buying either one.
