Did I short my Starter? 850 1994

Thanks for the help. Turns out that I didn't ruin the starter, I just had the cable to the battery touching the field wire.
Note for anyone installing a starter that tightening the battery cable moves it clockwise into the soldered connection for the field wire, thus creating a short.
