Help - Sunroof won't close completely? 850 1996

I had a problem with my sunroof today. When I closed it, it would not close completely in the closed position. When it came to a stop, the passenger's side rear corner was about 1/2 to 3/4 inch below the roof line, enough to fit a fingertip through. The driver's side rear corner was just a hair below the roof, while the front of the sunroof was in its normal, closed position. Also, as one would expect, the sunroof would not tilt up in the vent position. Tried opening and closing several times with no change.

Only mention in the Haynes manual about sunroof is to take it to the dealer. Am hoping that someone here can give me some andvise as to what the problem may be and hopefully how to correct it.
