850T vs V70 - your opinion please 850 96

I have about 18 hours to decide between a 1996 850T wagon with 75k (very well cared for) or a 1998 V70 GTA wagon with 53k (service records not available, but I'd be getting it from my very fussy mechanic). I had been driving a wonderful 96 850 GLT wagon until an adolescent in a pick up truck drove up my tail pipe and totaled it a week and a half ago. The other driver's insurance company is getting pushy. I need to decide whether to chose the car that gets me hot or the one that will probably be more reliable *yawn* and road worthy in central New York winters. Will putting 16" snows on the 850R be sufficient to handle the demands of lake effect snow? (I keep thinking: this is a Swedish car, right?) I spend alot of time on the road, hauling three kids around.

So what is it? 850T or V70?
