850 Purchase Advice 850

I have owned 3 Volvos in the last several years...all 900 series RWDs.I still own a 94 940 and it has been one of the most rock solid cars I have ever had.

But now I am taking a step into the FWD models and I like what I see available in the 850s and S70s and S80s.
Can someone point me in the direction of what I should be looking for/looking out for as I start seriously looking and test driving these? Model year preferences. Mileage issues for the major components? If there is some sort of sticky or summary thread, please point me in the right direction.
It's bee a few years since I have been on BB...since I bought 2 of those "other" Swedish cars.
