clicking noise/check engine light.... 850 1994

Hello, I have a '94 850 T w/ nearly 200,000 miles on it. I noticed about a month ago for the first time an even "clicking" noise. I have been told its the oil pump, i have also been told its the timing belt. It only does this when the engine is cold but quickly stops when it gets up to a normal temp. Any clues on what it could be? Also... the check engine light came on, I had the car serviced for this reason but it wasnt fixed. I will eventually take it back, but can anyone tell me how to turn it off and or a website that will tell me what they mean?? It would be greatly apreciated. Thanks. ~Cody
