Boost pressure sources? 850 1996

Gang,

I just purchased a Dawes Devices Manual Boost Controller to experiment with. I know that the ECU limits boost pressure, however, I’m not trying to increase boost, but rather decrease spool up time and get rid of the boost spike you get when tightening the wastegate.

The instructions state that the best way to implement the boost controller to avoid spiking is to create a really short path from boost source to the controller and then to the wastegate. They state note to use the wastegate source but rather a source close to the turbo is the best. Is there are boost pressure line/source near the turbo? Just after the wastegate and before the main turbo body there is a large turbo duct that goes to the intercooler. On the side of the mount for this hose is a small vacuum hose that goes to a point just past the throttle body and before the intake manifold.

Is this a boost pressure source?

Is it the closest source to the turbo?

Thanks all.

Scott
