Well. I highly doubt that its a malfunctioning cold start injector. Never seen one give a problem. Frankly, I can't even remember if a 93 850 HAS a cold start injector.

Considering the mileage on your vehicle, I suspect that the compression is not what it was - that and some worn tune-up parts and colder temperatures with autumn coming on. My recommendation: brand new, no frills spark plugs - NGK BKR6E. Not Bosch, not platinum. Brand new air filter. Nice strong battery. Compression gets lost through worn piston rings, which you can't take care of without a rebuild, and, moreso through worn valve seats or buildup on those seats. Take your car out for a 10-15 minute drive in a low gear so that RPMs stay above 4500. At that RPM, valves start to rotate in their guides and basically renew the valve seats while you drive. You'll be greeted with easier starting the very next day.

Its sometimes a baffling scenario on newer "white" engine Volvos and we all want it to be something complicated or exotic sounding like "cold-start injector" but more often than not its something simple that's getting overlooked.
