sorry to disappoint you but any "R" version of any model we see coming into the US will have AWD as standard equipment. The new system, Haldex, is pretty neat. I had a chance to try an S60AWD in mud and on a road with lots of water plus many wet leaves and the power transfer is much more immediate than the current AWD system. Lastly, the system was not "hunting" between front and rear axles as much as the viscous coupling is.
