Re: cd changer 850 1997

Sorry - I can't give you a definitive answer other than if your head unit has CD changer controls, then in almost all case you are pre-wired for the Volvo Changer.

If you choose to fit the Alpine equivalent, you still need an interface cable as the manufacturers change the comm protocols - specifically to steer you towards their own "brand". The actual changers are physically identical in terms of mechanism etc.
