Re: Any one have problem with the key stuck inside the ignition switch and wont come out ?? 400 2000

Mrsha: Hey, it happens, and it's no fun. Try to turn the steering wheel all the way to one side, then wiggle the key. Even if the steering wheel only moves an inch or so, to the right side, for example, hold it ALL THE WAY DOWN with one hand, then try moving/wiggling the key up-and-down, as well as in-and-out (just a little), all at the same time. (You know by now that the steering is locked, and it is usually happening when there is tension on the wheel when you turn the key off, then your leg hits the steering wheel as you are getting out of the car AND trying to pull the key out at the same time; it's a combination of bad luck and bad timing. Be VERY careful about breaking the key by twisting it too hard.) Hopefully you will be lucky, and be able to get the key out normally; if you do, look at the key: if it's twisted at all, use a better/newer/ubused key as your primary key. Also, keep your foot on the brake.Good luck, sir.--PD
