Dealer Replaced New Control Arm 850 1995

4 months ago I replaced both front Control Arms (A-Arms) on '95 850. These include the ball joint. Took car in last week and dealer replaced left outer tie rod and left front control arm. Took old one (purchased and installed June of 2001) back to parts store. They said nothing wrong with part. Dealer says ball rotates to easily in its socket. Parts dealer says it is supposed to do this. Parts dealer says only defective if ball is slipping up and down inside of socket. Who is right and what is best way to resolve? Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Phil
