Manually resetting service light S70 99

I was looking into resetting the "service" light on the S70,and where to get a tool to read codes. Went to IPD,(web address should be posted ipdusa.com on your site), to check for the reset tool. Their site says that '99='01 cars can be reset manually, but how?

The local dealership is good while in warranty, but terrible afterwards. New to Volvo, as this is my girlfriend's car, but have always done my own repairs. Honda's, Toyota's, Ford's, Chevy's. Rather disgusted about odd tools, sizes, lack of resources, such as repair manuals. Any suggestions, direction would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Barry
