Are XC'c a good buy?

Hi,

I'm new to this board, hope you can help me out. My wife is looking at replacing her 95 Accord Wagon (w/210K miles) and we have always thought that the V70 Cross Country wagon would be a good choice. (We live in New Hampshire, and the AWD would be great.) However, she saw that Consumer Reports specifically listed the 1998 V70 as a "Do Not Buy" so she is basically turning away from Volvos now.

Could some of you comment on the general reliability of the Cross Country wagons? We would probably be looking at a 1998 in the 40K-50K mile range, just due to current pricing.

We have had virtually NO PROBLEMS with the Honda, and are hesitant to give that up, but the size and AWD and added luxury of the Volvo are very appealing.

Thanks,

Hal
