smoke plume another case of PCV crying for help? 850

my 97 850 T5 automatic puts up a little smoke plume from the exhaust manifold over near the timing belt end of the engine, especially when sitting in traffic for a bit. I can see oil down by the bottom of the timing belt cover, and on the CV boot. Is there a seal on the timing shafts near the gears that leaks? Or is this likely leaking around from the cam rear seals? my mech said there's no PCV on this car since it's a turbo, but I've read several posts about cleaning the PCV, and am going outside to look for that now.
