drivers seat cushion collapsing V70-XC70 2001

the seat cushion on the drivers seat is sitting lower than the cushion on the passenger seat. there is a gap between the seat cushion and the seat back.I havent taken the seat out because I'm not sure how to disarm the side airbag.looking under the seat there is an orange wire hanging down,disconected from something on the switch side. all the power seat controls work, but the airbag light is on. Where should I begin?
